Dholera Airport Project update
An airport is being built on 1426 hectares of land. It will have two runways. One runway will be 3200 meters long and the other will be 4000 meters long. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) owns the airport and the DIACL will operate it. The Gujarat government has given 3500 meters of land for the project. The third phase of the project will begin after the first two phases are completed. In the third phase, a third runway will be built. The airport will cost around 1,305 crore Indian Rupees. The first phase of the airport will be ready in December 2025/2026.
The new Dholera International Airport will support the logistics of the upcoming Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR). In the future, it will also manage some of the traffic from the current Ahmedabad Airport. The airport will drive economic growth in the region, similar to other airport cities around the world.
